25th Anniversary of XP

In 2024 we will celebrate the 25th anniversary of the first XP Software Conference held in Cagliari on the island of Sardinia in Italy.

XP2024 will feature a special “Anniversary Track” dedicated to celebrating and providing a retrospective of past XP Conferences, as well as looking forward to the next 25 years.

Anniversary Track Call for Participation

Proposals are sought for anniversary “events,” including interactive workshops, panel sessions, and games. Events should feature, celebrate, or review the successes and/or shortcomings of past XP Conferences and propose roadmaps for future XP Conferences. Event proposals should be 1 to 4 pages (in any format), and they will be evaluated based on:
  • Relevance to the 25th Anniversary of the XP Conference Series.
  • Anticipated engagement of XP2024 participants to foster learning and networking.
  • Content “leverage” of past XP Conferences to promote future innovation.

Proposed events should:

  • Fit within a 30-, 60- or 90-minute program block.
  • Identify prospective participants (panelists, facilitators, etc.), anticipated audience, and event format, e.g., fireside chats, debates, quizzes, show trials, games, etc.
  • Be sponsored by at least two and preferably three individuals from different organizations.

Anniversary Track Papers and Essays

Papers and essays relevant to the 25th-anniversary celebrations will also be considered. Papers might assess the impact of Agile over the past 25 years, review content from previous XP Conferences, or anticipate the future evolution of Agile.

An anniversary essay may be an exploration of an agile-related topic and its impact, it may present a personal view of agile concepts, it may be a philosophical digression, or it may be a deep analysis. Alternatively, an essay may describe a personal journey that an author took to reach an understanding of the topic.

Papers and essays should be in Springer format and not exceed 8 pages. Find formatting details here.

To be considered, proposals must be submitted electronically via EasyChair.
