Call and Topics of Interest

As Agile continues to transform the way organizations work, coaching has become increasingly vital in nurturing, developing, and accelerating Agile practices. In the “Coaching for Agile” track of XP2024, we would like to explore the role of coaching in enhancing Agile within various organizational contexts. We want to hear stories from Coaching practitioners in Agile adoption to share insights, experiences, and practices.

We focus on understanding the multifaceted role of coaching in Agile environments and its
impact on team dynamics, organizational culture, and overall agility. We seek engaging and
thought-provoking contributions addressing, but not limited to, the following topics:

  1. Enhancing Agility through Coaching: How does coaching catalyze agility in enterprises?
    Real-world examples where coaching has significantly improved Agile practices.
  2. Coaching in Agile Transformations: Exploring critical junctures where coaching is indispensable in Agile transformations. The role of coaching in navigating complex Agile implementations.
  3. Coaching Agile Teams: Case studies and experiences of coaching Agile teams to
    excellence. Techniques and strategies for effective team coaching in Agile contexts.
  4. Business and Executive Coaching: Insights into coaching business leaders and executives for Agile mindset adoption. Strategies for aligning executive goals with Agile principles.
  5. Life and Change Coaching in Agile: Personal coaching influences Agile team members and leaders. Managing change in Agile transformations through effective coaching.
  6. Influential Coaching Frameworks and Methods: Contributions from coaching schools like ICF, NLP, Solution Focus, etc. Agile contextualizations of seminal works like “The Inner Game of Tennis,” “Coaching for Performance,” “The Coaching Habit,” and “Coaching Agile Teams.”

Submission Guidelines

The submission should contain the following information:

  • Abstract: Explain the general topic and highlight the concepts the session is going to cover.
  • Learning outcomes: 1-3 reasons why a participant should choose this particular session and what would be the lessons learned.
  • Process / Mechanics: Rough agenda for the session, session style (lecture, interactive, demo)
  • Target Audience: (e.g. developers, managers, …)
  • Prerequisites required of attendees: (e.g. basic knowledge in …, familiarity with …, … )
  • Level: introductory, practicing, expert
  • Short biography of the speaker(s)
  • And of course, you can also provide any additional information for the PC that helps decide on your submission.

Submissions will only be accepted via the EasyChair platform.

Note: In addition to an abstract, you should upload a PDF in the submission system. 

Evaluation

Proposals are evaluated on:

  • Relevancy for and inspiration of the participants’ learning
  • Grounded in the proposers’ experience
  • Clear and convincing. Note during the submission phase, it competes with other proposals, so convince us of its importance
  • Engaging and involving. Tell us how you make it interesting, attractive, and maybe even entertaining for the participants
  • Novelty
  • Clarity and practicality of the session structure
  • Preferably supporting the conference’s main theme

Due to the popularity of this topic, selected participants may be asked to contribute to the review of other submissions. Please specify your openness to assist co-chairs in the unbiased review and selection of other proposals. Should you volunteer and be asked to help, you will be provided administrative access to EasyChair to submit your reviews.
