Conference Sponsorship Initiative

Initiative Purpose

The Agile Alliance Conference Sponsorship Initiative is intended to support organizers of non-profit conferences that promote the concepts of Agile software development. This initiative does not apply to conferences that are run by Agile Alliance.

To be eligible for sponsorship, a conference should include at least one full day of sessions with an Agile theme. Agile Alliance may also be able to offer advice to organizers of new conferences.

Agile Alliance may support the conference by promoting the event on the Agile Alliance website and in email communications to our members and subscribers. Agile Alliance may support a conference with the financial support of up to 3,000 USD or Euros.

Conferences are reviewed by the initiative committee with the following criteria in mind:

• Budget
• For-profit or non-profit status (for-profit conferences do not qualify for financial support)
• The current financials of Agile Alliance
• The history of the conference
• The manner in which sessions align with the principles of the Agile Manifesto

The definition of a not-for-profit event for our purposes here is Not-for-profit organizations are types of organizations that do not earn profits for their owners. All of the money earned by or donated to a not-for-profit organization is used in pursuing the organization’s objectives and keeping it running

Conference organizers are expected to display the Agile Alliance logo on their website (front page and sponsors page) with an associated click-through to www.agilealliance.org.

Organizers are also expected to provide a short report on the results of their conference within 30 days of the conclusion of the event.
